Description
Ohio Roller Derby (OHRD) is back with three more home games! This season has been an ode to our identity, history, and love for our sport. Join us for part two of OHRD: The Heart of Derby to continue our celebration!
The second half of our home season will take place in nearby Plain City at Heatwave Arena. We can’t wait to play more fast, furious, full-contact roller derby in front of our fans in a brand-new venue! Heatwave Arena has a lower capacity, so be sure to get your tickets early and thoroughly check out the information below.
Folks who purchase tickets will receive more detailed information about venue navigation, parking, and everything else they need to know before they go via email.
Here’s the lineup for part two of our home season:
- Saturday, June 21 vs. Madison Roller Derby
- Saturday, August 2 vs. TBD
- Saturday, September 13 vs. Charlotte Maul
LOCATION: Heatwave Arena (8450 Warner Rd, Plain City, Ohio 43064)
DOORS: For each game, doors will open at 4:30 pm; the All Stars will face off at 5 pm; and OHRD’s B team, Gang Green, will take the track around 7 pm.
PARKING: Heatwave Arena is part of a complex. There will be signs directing spectators to the arena. Parking will be available in front of Heatwave, as well as throughout the complex.
SEATING: There will be cushioned chairs on the rink floor, as well as track-side seating. Accessible seating will be available. No outside chairs are permitted.
CONCESSIONS: Light concessions will be available on-site. Pending permit approval, there will be a small selection of beers available for purchase. No outside food or drinks are permitted.
WHAT’S HAPPENING: Roller derby is a full-contact sport and the action on the track is fast, so sometimes things can get confusing! Check out our About Roller Derby page for more info. On game day, we’ll help you follow along with information in your program and insightful commentary from our knowledgeable announcers.
FAN ACCESS: One of the best things about roller derby is how accessible the athletes are – roller derby players really love talking to our fans! Please feel free to flag us down when you see us roll past. We’ll sign autographs and pose for photos – we will entertain most reasonable requests! We strive to make our games kid-friendly, and we love to see your little skater tots cheering in the stands! Children 7 and under are always admitted free.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
Weapons, non-service animals, megaphones, whistles, or other items deemed inappropriate, harmful, or hazardous by staff are prohibited. No banners or signs that obstruct the view of guests, contain objectionable subject matter, or are commercial in nature. No clothing with slurs or content that suggests or condones harassment, discrimination, or abuse. No smoking near the building entrances. Professional video cameras, still photography, and audio recorders require prior authorization. No one under 18 in trackside seating. We ask that all participants, including fans, follow the WFTDA Code of Conduct. Failure to follow these Codes of Conduct may result in being removed from the event or denied entry by OHRD staff or venue security.
RETURN POLICY: Ticket sales are nonrefundable.
As a small business, we rely on ticket sales to operate our league, and we have a very limited amount of tickets we can sell to each event! Your ticket purchase reserves your place at the event and we cannot sell that spot to someone else, even if you do not attend. If you are unable to attend, we encourage you to resell your ticket at face value to another fan who would love to attend our event in your place!
